Ferro Silicon Alloy

During steelmaking, residual oxygen in molten steel compromises material quality. Ferrosilicon, a common deoxidizer, is added during tapping or refining to react with oxygen, forming stable silicon dioxide and significantly reducing nonmetallic inclusions.

In cast iron production, ferrosilicon serves as a nodulizer to promote graphitization, refine grain size, reduce white cast iron tendency, and enhance mechanical properties and surface quality of castings.
