Product production process
First of all, there must be raw material quartz stone, which contains a large amount of silicon dioxide. The quartz stone was crushed into small pieces, just like pebbles. These small pieces of quartz stone are the main raw materials for producing metallic silicon.
Then, put these quartz stones and carbonaceous reducing agents, such as coal, permanent carbon and so on, into the electric furnace together.
After being heated in an electric furnace, quartz stone and carbonaceous reducing agents will undergo a chemical reaction under the effect of high temperature. Carbon will take away the oxygen in quartz stone, thus turning silicon dioxide into silicon and carbon monoxide. Silicon is the metallic silicon we want. As for carbon monoxide, it will escape from the electric furnace.
This reaction process is not easy and requires maintaining a high temperature all the time. Moreover, it is necessary to control various conditions well, such as the degree, the proportion of raw materials and so on. If the temperature is not high enough, the reaction will not proceed well and good metallic silicon cannot be produced. If the proportion of raw materials is incorrect, it will also affect the quality of the product.
After the reaction is complete, molten metallic silicon will be obtained at the bottom of the electric furnace. At this point, pour out the molten metallic silicon and place it in the mold to cool down. When it cools down, it turns into pieces of metallic silicon.
Finally, some treatments still need to be carried out on these metals to retain high-quality metallic silicon. In this way, we have obtained metallic silicon that can be used in various places.
