Products Description
Silicon slag refers to the solid byproduct formed at the furnace bottom or walls during the smelting of products such as metallic silicon, ferrosilicon, or polysilicon. This occurs due to incomplete reduction reactions or the oxidation of impurity elements. It typically appears as grayish-black or dark gray lumps with a rough surface. Internally, it contains unreacted silicon, silicon dioxide, calcium oxide, aluminum oxide, carbides, and trace metallic impurities.
Silicon slag primarily originates from furnace bottom deposits during electric arc furnace metallurgical silicon production, residual anode slag after casting, and dust residue generated during metallurgical silicon crushing and screening.

Some silicon slag with lower impurity content, after processing, can serve as an additive for refractory materials, used in the construction of industrial furnace linings.
