Silicon manganese alloy is an alloy composedof manganese, silicon, iron and a small amountof carbon and other elements. It is a ferro alloywith a wide applications and a large outputs.Silicon and manganese have strong affinitywith oxygen in silicon manganese alloy. In thesteel making, using silicon manganese alloy,produced deoxidized products MnSiO3 andMnSiO4, which have low melting point, largeparticles and easy to float as well as gooddeoxidation effect, are melted at 1270℃ and1327℃. Under the same conditions, manganese
or silicon is used for deoxidation alone. And theburning loss rate is 46% and 37%, while thesilicon manganese alloy is deoxidized, and theboth of burning rate is 29%.
